Welcome to Matrip. By using our mobile application, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Matrip, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Matrip is a collaborative trip planning application that allows users to discover travel spots, create itineraries, and plan trips with friends. Features include AI-powered itinerary generation, spot discovery, group collaboration, and offline access.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Matrip.
You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Matrip offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription.
Pro subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same rate.
You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play).
Refunds are handled according to the refund policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable. To request a refund, please contact Apple or Google directly through their respective support channels.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Upload content that is offensive, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app.
Use automated systems or bots to access the service.

6. Intellectual Property

The Matrip app, including its design, code, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Matrip and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the trip data and content you create within the app.

7. Third-Party Services

Matrip integrates with third-party services including Google Places API, Google Gemini AI, Firebase, and RevenueCat. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. Place data, reviews, and photos are provided by Google and are subject to Google's terms of service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Matrip is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated itineraries, place information, or travel recommendations. Always verify important travel details independently.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Matrip shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to travel disruptions, data loss, or inaccurate recommendations.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from the Profile screen in the app.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Matrip and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Matrip shall first be resolved through good-faith informal negotiation. If informal resolution is unsuccessful within 30 days, either party may pursue the matter in the state or federal courts located in California.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Matrip regarding your use of the app, and supersede any prior agreements.
